My contributions
- Designed chassis and mechanisms for two semi-autonomous robots.
- Built catapult and dual-roller shooters for throwing rings onto poles up to 12 m away.
- Sized load-bearing members with FEA against impact loads at launch.
DD Robocon is India's national qualifier for ABU Robocon. In the mechanical subsystem of CSD Robocon NITK, I designed chassis and mechanisms for two semi-autonomous robots. It was NITK's first qualification for the national stage, among the top 50 teams in the country.
Mechanisms
The task was throwing rings onto poles up to 12 metres away. We built catapult and dual-roller shooting mechanisms for it.
Prototyping and analysis
We iterated quickly with 3D printing and laser cutting, and used FEA on load-bearing members to size the structure against impact loads at launch.
